Interesting Facts

Fog Bell on Display at Brown’s Point

The bell is housed in the old pump house and was casted in 1855 in Philadelphia and brought around Cape Horn to the New Dungeness Lighthouse. In 1878, it was moved to Point No Point Lighthouse because it was not loud enough for ships to hear. Next stop for the bell was Point Robinson Lighthouse and then onto Brown’s Point in 1903.
